    New function features are fantastic. Navigating the new toolbars is a challenge, but just muscle memory to train. Multiple solids in one body should help reduce steps. And of course, solving the auto correction parametric sequencing issue is awesome. Thanks for sharing your research with us. Well appreciated.

      @@Adventuresincreation nope. I’ve only ever used 0.21 and the things added/fixed in 0.22 are basically all things I struggled with being a first time user to CAD. My needs are basic enough I don’t lose anything committing myself to the bleeding edge, even if I have to try a few builds before I find one that’s stable enough for my primitive workflow. Honestly these changes seem like they might shift CAD from being a chore to being a bit fun. The UI / workflow in 0.21 seems a bit needlessly tedious to me, and 0.22 added a bunch of new features that would clearly help that for how I use it.

    Hi At 16H43 there is a step to create simmetrical lines around the center point. My whole drawing turns orange, and I can not find my conflicting constraints. I have tried all of the following: 1. Zoom in on the object or point that's turning orange. Sometimes, constraints can be hidden or overlap, making them hard to spot. 2. Use the "Constraint list" filter: In the Constraint list, click on the filter icon (looks like a funnel) and select "Show only conflicting constraints". This will hide all non-conflicting constraints, making it easier to spot the problematic one. 3. *Check for *hidden constraints: Some constraints might be hidden from view. To show all constraints, including hidden ones, go to the "View" menu, then select "Show hidden objects" (or press Ctrl + Shift + H). 4. *Try *recomputing the constraints: Sometimes, FreeCAD can get stuck. Try recomputing the constraints by going to the "Model" tab, clicking on the "Recompute" button (looks like a circular arrow), and then selecting "Recompute all". But still can not find the conflicting Constraint. Can you please assist?

    @BikerBenFromMars 9 днів тому

    Hi, can you please explain why you always start a new sketch from the origin instead of sketching directly on a selected face? For example, when you built the tower off the base, you started from the XY plane and added the initial 10mm thick base to your 80mm tall tower, rather than sketching and building from the face 80mm up. Similarly, when creating a datum plane, you added a formula to position it exactly where needed, instead of simply selecting the face at a 35-degree angle and creating the datum plane there. I'm just learning and I'm curious if there's a beneficial reason for doing it the way you've shown, or if there has been an update allowing a simpler method since this video is 3 years old. Thank you!

    • @Adventuresincreation
      @Adventuresincreation 9 днів тому

      Great question! - In prior versions of FreeCAD it suffered from something called the Topological Naming Problem. Essentially, the labels for faces would change if you modified the model and added new faces hence any attached sketch would move to where then label moved with unpredicable results. You can read more about it here wiki.freecad.org/Topological_naming_problem. The very latest dev release of FreeCAD has addressed this problem and for the most part resolved it so now, creating sketches from faces is an OK thing to do.

    It's not very as intuitive as A2Plus. It's very simple but broken mostly. So there is no scope except for these chores in order to create constraint driven assembly in Assembly3 WB or Assembly4 WB. Because beginner may find the whole day where do I add or insert part directly without opening 10s of 100s of parts.

    The end points and rim points curve, how do you curve it precisely? I’m trying to model a Reflex Sight, the amount the side curves stick out from the width of the sight is 10cm, so each curve would need to be a total of 5cm, but it seems that the radius is calculated based of off the curve, and then it’s centre point which is pulled way back and most of the time out of the sketch, I also can’t do a measurement constraint from the curve to the main box my curves come out from, which means I can’t take that space into consideration for manually measuring and adjusting the curve, I know it’s probably really simple, but I just can’t seem to figure it out, and can’t find any videos specifically on precise curves.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I just downloaded, but now it is Revision 37709. Having some issues others might need to look out for, when I started the first sketch the window to select the plane was partially obscured in the lower left of the screen. At first I did not realize what was happening and once I figured out to drag the window up it subsequently pops up in view. Also the XY,XZ,YZ plane geometrical views remain on after starting the sketch, haven't figured out how to turn them off yet. Otherwise everything is working as you demonstrated. Best Regards

    Thanks for for the update! A couple of years ago i put in the following issue on the Freecad forum: "From what I can tell there is no way to click on a vertex and see what constraints exist on it(I assume that is because it is not "real" piece of geometry since it is a point). If you click on the 2 lines that form the coincident constraint you get ALL the other irrelevant constraints associated with those lines " As a casual user I frequently have to go back and rethink which pieces of geometry are best constrained to each other and not being able easily revisit and edit them was a deal killer. Wonder if they have fixed that?
